Master Data Management (MDM) & Data Governance Consultant
Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) & Data Governance professional to drive business and data governance activities across Procurement, Finance, and Human Capital domains. The role will focus on establishing trusted master data by defining Critical Data Elements (CDEs), business glossaries, golden sources, data quality rules, ownership and stewardship models, source-to-target lineage, and controlled remediation processes. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in MDM, Data Quality, Data Governance, SQL analysis, stakeholder management, process mapping, and master data remediation. Experience with Oracle Fusion, Palantir Foundry, and enterprise data governance frameworks will be an added advantage. Note: This Job Post is for one of our clients based in Middle East.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain Critical Data Elements (CDEs), business glossaries, and golden-source definitions.
- Profile source data to identify completeness, accuracy, consistency, uniqueness, and validity issues.
- Define and document Data Quality (DQ) rules, thresholds, and validation criteria.
- Identify duplicate, inconsistent, and incomplete master data records.
- Define matching, merging, and survivorship requirements for master data.
- Facilitate data ownership and stewardship across business and technical teams.
- Perform root-cause analysis of data quality issues and coordinate remediation activities.
- Coordinate data reconciliation between source and target systems.
- Map business processes, source systems, target systems, and end-to-end data lineage.
- Conduct stakeholder workshops to gather business requirements and establish data ownership.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), governance forums, and operational data controls.
- Maintain data governance artefacts, issue registers, remediation plans, and reconciliation evidence.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, governance packs, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor data quality improvement and issue-closure activities.
- Support auditability and ensure governance processes are consistently followed.
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of MDM concepts, processes, and lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience defining Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and business glossaries.
- Experience with data profiling and development of Data Quality rules.
- Strong understanding of duplicate identification, matching, merging, and survivorship concepts.
- Experience in data stewardship and ownership models.
- Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with business process mapping and source-to-target data lineage.
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis, profiling, validation, and reconciliation.
- Experience conducting stakeholder workshops and gathering business requirements.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience working on at least one complete MDM/data governance implementation or data remediation programme.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with Oracle Fusion master data.
- Exposure to Palantir Foundry.
- Strong domain knowledge in Procurement, Finance, or Human Capital Management (HCM).
- Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK or similar data management frameworks.
- Experience with service-management workflows and issue-management processes.
- Experience creating dashboards for Data Quality, reconciliation, and governance monitoring.
- Experience designing operational data controls and reconciliation frameworks.
