Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Data Privacy & Privacy Governance professional to embed privacy-by-design principles across Master Data Management (MDM), data ingestion, enterprise data platforms, Palantir Foundry use cases, and cross-vertical data sharing. The role will focus on protecting personal and sensitive data by assessing data-processing activities, supporting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), maintaining processing inventories, defining data minimisation, retention, masking and access requirements, and assessing cross-border and third-party privacy risks. The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience in privacy governance, data mapping, data classification, privacy risk assessments, vendor reviews, stakeholder engagement, and translating legal and regulatory requirements into practical technical and operational controls. Note: This Job Post is for one of our clients based in Middle East.

Responsibilities

  • Assess personal and sensitive data processing activities across business and technology environments.
  • Support and coordinate Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy risk assessments.
  • Maintain and update data-processing inventories and Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
  • Perform data mapping and identify personal-data flows across source, target, and downstream systems.
  • Define requirements for lawful purpose, data minimisation, retention, masking, access, and appropriate data usage.
  • Review data ingestion processes to identify privacy risks before data is introduced into enterprise platforms.
  • Embed privacy-by-design principles into MDM, data engineering, analytics, and data-sharing initiatives.
  • Assess cross-border data transfers, offshore access, and third-party/vendor privacy risks.
  • Translate privacy and regulatory requirements into practical technical and operational controls.
  • Work with Data Owners, Data Stewards, technology teams, security teams, legal teams, and delivery teams.
  • Review privacy controls related to access management, RBAC, masking, retention, and data classification.
  • Maintain privacy risk/action registers and monitor remediation activities.
  • Maintain approval records and audit-ready evidence for privacy reviews.
  • Provide practical privacy guidance to Data Owners, project teams, and delivery teams.
  • Support privacy governance forums and ensure identified privacy actions are closed within agreed timelines.

Required qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Protection, Data Privacy, Privacy Governance, or a related field.
  • Strong practical understanding of privacy governance and privacy-by-design principles.
  • Hands-on experience with DPIAs and privacy risk assessments.
  • Strong experience in data mapping and personal-data flow analysis.
  • Understanding of data classification and handling requirements for personal and sensitive data.
  • Experience defining data retention and minimisation requirements.
  • Understanding of data-subject rights and privacy obligations.
  • Experience conducting vendor and third-party privacy assessments.
  • Ability to translate legal and regulatory privacy requirements into operational and technical controls.
  • Experience working with business, legal, security, data, and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Practical experience implementing privacy and data-governance controls within technology or data environments.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with UAE privacy regulations and multi-jurisdiction privacy requirements.
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms.
  • Exposure to Palantir Foundry.
  • Understanding of AI governance and responsible data/AI practices.
  • Knowledge of security and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Knowledge of Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs).
  • Experience with data masking, pseudonymisation, anonymisation, and other privacy controls.
  • Recognised privacy qualification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cross-border data-transfer assessments.
  • Experience working with enterprise MDM and data-ingestion programmes.
